Job description

The role of the depot assistant is key to the successful running of our busy depots. The depot assistant will support the supervisor in handling the day-to-day activities around the depot. Our depots are open 8-8, 7 days a week, therefore hours may include evening and weekend work.

Key responsibilities of the depot assistant include:

· Customer service both in person and over the phone, taking payment and orders, and dealing with queries

· Liaising with our delivery drivers regarding daily orders and activities

· Handling cash and credit sales throughout the day and ensuring that the yard sales balance correctly at the end of each shift

· General depot maintenance, to assist the supervisor in ensuring the smooth running of the depot

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar environment, exemplary customer service and cash handling experience.
